Best Brewery: River Rat Brewery

Founded in 2013, River Rat Brewery is named in tribute to the rivers that surround Columbia and the men who built the original Columbia canal. Since their start, they have been on a mission to create the perfect beer to enjoy after a long day of work. 

Their drinks menu features seasonal and year-round stouts, IPAs, ales, lagers and just about any other kind of beer you can think of. The 803 IPA is the perfect summer beer — slightly sweet, very refreshing and it goes great with barbeque and burgers.

The dog-friendly rooftop patio is the perfect place to kick back after a long week or host an event. While you’re there, don’t forget to check out their full menu, including the pimento cheese quesadilla, wings, sliders and more. You can even keep up the boozy kick with fries topped with 803 IPA beer queso.

Stop by on a Sunday to indulge in their brunch menu. Choose from the normal selection of drinks, try out a “beermosa” or sip on a Jack Rudy Bloody Mary. Keep an eye out for events throughout the year, like the Valentine’s Day Chocolate Beer Pairing or the River Rat Brewery Oyster Roast and BBQ.
